Our open MRI scanner provides a more open and less confining experience for patients compared to traditional closed MRI scanners. Unlike traditional closed MRI scanners, which can be narrow and enclosed, open MRI scanners have a more open and spacious design. They do not fully enclose the patient and are therefore more accommodating for patients who may experience claustrophobia or discomfort in a confined space.
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is not harmful because it relies on the use of strong magnetic fields and radio waves, rather than ionizing radiation like X-rays or CT scans. These magnetic fields and radio waves are non-ionizing, meaning they do not have enough energy to break chemical bonds or damage cellular structures in the body. This non-invasive nature of MRI makes it a safe imaging option for patients of all ages, including pregnant women and children. Additionally, MRI does not expose patients to potentially harmful radiation, making it a preferred choice for diagnostic imaging when repeated or frequent scans are needed to monitor medical conditions over time.
