Functional testing provides a greater insight into the root cause of what may be causing your symptoms and enables a personalised nutrition plan to be designed specifically for you. It can identify underlying imbalances, nutrient deficiencies and food sensitivities.

Functional testing may include blood tests, a stool test, urine and saliva analysis, and even DNA testing. Tests are all carried out from the comfort and privacy of your own home. Test kits are posted directly to you with full instructions on how to collect your samples and blood tests only involve a finger prick to collect the blood.

Samples are then posted to the laboratory and results are usually received within 2-10 days depending on the type of test. Your Functional Nutritionist will then provide a full written report of the test results and explain the findings to you during a follow up consultation.

If you’d like to know more before booking a full Analysis, why not book a 30-minute Nutrition Assessment for just £35.

How it works

A Nutrition Analysis includes an in-depth health and lifestyle questionnaire (18 pages!), completion of a food dairy and may involve a range of blood, DNA, stool, urine & saliva tests, all of which can be undertaken at home. This may well take a couple of weeks.

Once completed, your Nutritionist will spend an hour or two analysing the data, to thoroughly understand what’s going on, before designing your personal programme.

The Nutritionist will then share their findings, and your tailored nutrition plan, during a 90-minute online video consultation. During the consultation, they will review your medical history, your health goals and any other challenges you’re facing, what you generally eat, what you like to eat, what you hate to eat and how you have to eat (on the bus, in a rush at your desk, and so on). There’s no judgement and anything you share is kept in confidence. They will interpret any blood tests results you may already have.

By analysing current eating patterns, nutrient intake and dietary habits, taking into consideration physical activity levels, stress, and sleep, they can make tailored recommendations based on age, gender, health status, and your specific goals. They can then develop a diet, lifestyle and (when required) supplement plan to support those needs. They also create bespoke recipes and meal plans for you.
