Medical insoles, also known as foot orthotics, are designed to improve the function of your feet and reduce pain when walking or exercising. Whether it’s the wrong choice of shoe or something more deep-rooted like issues with alignment or loading patterns, gait abnormalities can lead to varying problems with our feet, knees, hips, backs and even necks. If left untreated, they can throw the whole body off balance and increase our risk of injury and cause pain.

Our customised orthotics can be inserted into any shoe to support the abnormal movement of a foot. They promote proper foot alignment and movement and can be used to support high arches or conditions like overpronation.

How it works

To get you started with your customised orthotics, we use dynamic Footscan® technology and biomechanical measurements, which generate a clear analysis of your gait. Our experts will work with you to tailor your orthotics to your specific needs. Using a 3D printer and high-grade, ultralight polyamide, we will then create long-lasting Phits™ orthotics, perfectly fitted to provide your feet with the most functional support.

Once they are printed, completed with a shock-absorbing comfort layer, and delivered to the clinic, your orthotics will be fitted to your feet and shoes. Occasionally an adjustment is required to ensure a perfect fit.

Foot orthotics are custom made medical insoles. They are made individually for you and are a support that fits inside your shoes.

Most foot pain is as a result of faulty alignments of the foot bones and foot shape. This poor alignment can cause bunions, toe deformities, pain in the heel and arches and balls of the foot.

Foot orthotics are used to realign these foot joints and reduce the stresses on the painful over-worked joints, tendons and ligaments.

Foot orthotics are carefully shaped to gently lift collapsed arches or alter the position of feet that lean in or out too far.

Absolutely. Custom orthotics are designed to address specific foot concerns, improving foot function and reducing pain. They work well for high arches, plantar fasciitis, and overpronation, providing the necessary arch support and alignment for healthier feet.

While custom orthotics are designed to relieve pain, there may be an adjustment period. If you experience discomfort, it’s important to consult with us for possible adjustments. Properly fitted custom orthotics should not cause ongoing pain.

Quality custom orthotics, like those made by Lyfe Health using high-grade materials, typically last for several years. The lifespan depends on daily usage, care, and the type of activities they are used for.  Remember, we can re-cover your orthotics when the upper has suffered from general wear and tear.
